Attendance Policy Reminders For Elementary and Middle School

You have been previously provided with a copy of the revised Attendance Policy. There are a few key points we’d like to stress. Please remember that you must let your child’s school know that he or she will be absent within 24 hours of the absence. Also, please carefully review the list of what are excused and unexcused absences. If you wish to take your child out of school for a vacation or non-related school event, the absence will be unexcused. You should also be aware that tardies and early withdrawals may accumulate toward a full day’s absence. Attendance in school is critical to a child’s education progress and the revised policy emphasizes this fact.
