In American History fifth graders investigate the American Revolution. To enhance their knowledge of a major contributor to the formation of our country Hanawalt fifth graders are planning a field trip to the Applause performance of “Ben Franklin” on October 21 at the Temple for the Performing Arts.
Fifth graders are also participating in a pen pal program with classrooms of students in Germany, Italy, Indonesia, and Sweden. The students write to each other trading information about themselves and their cultures. The students also the opportunity to Skype with their pen pals to actually see them in person and talk with them.
