Second Grade News

In November our Hanawalt second graders will learn all about the Pilgrims and their journey to the New World in 1620. We will make a book about the Thanksgiving story and also one about turkeys. We will meet an Iowa farmer and learn all about his turkey farm. All second graders will make the Mayflower and find out through books and discussions what a hard life these Pilgrims endured for 66 days on this ship. We will be reading many nonfiction books that will teach us about this important part of our country’s history.
