March - Science Fair

Hanawalt Elementary held its first Science Fair on Thursday evening, February 12th. Individuals and teams of students in fourth and fifth grades entered their projects into Scientific Method and Scientific Topic divisions based on their grade levels. 

Judges who are currently Researchers with Pioneer-HiBred were Raymond Layton, Ph.D. (Virginia Tech, Aquatic Entomology), Laura Abad, Ph.D. (University of Minnesota, Plant Pathology), and Marc Harper, Ph.D. (Kansas State University, Insect Physiologist). John Custis (Machine Design Engineer), a Hanawalt parent, was also a member of the judging panel.
